Story 4: That Dad must have grown up in poverty and always at last so the rest of the family had enough. He would pretend he was full so his family could eat.

The first story must have been traumatizing for the OP. He was like ten. I hope the OP got some therapy for that.

Story 8 reminded me of a friend. Her parents were unhappy and her mother started cheating with her (also married) boss. Mom started going out a lot with excuses and eventually involved her daughter, stuff like taking her to the movies and having her watch alone while mom was hanging out with her boyfriend. Lying to her dad and being part of the ruse emotionally wrecked the daughter and she was only 14. They ended up getting divorced, with daughter moving in with dad and mother getting a boob job and marrying her boss.

Why we don't talk to my grandma anymore. When I was little we just stopped visiting her and I was confused and upset. Now that I'm old enough to know the family drama, I know why. My dad basically has mommy issues from her, and she hates my mom, and says that she stole him from her. (this explains why my mom wasn't with us whenever we visited her) Also when I was a baby my grandma tried to blackmail my dad so I can be named after her. My dad, tired with her bs, didn't fall for it, and I was named after my other grandma instead, my mom's mom. (this also explains why she never called me by my name) She has also done many more stuff. I guess when your family comes from a village, drama is to be expected.🤷🏻‍♀️

My mom and sister dont know that I know my dad tried to kill me and my sister. My dad had sever PTSD after coming back from overseas after being drafted to Afghanistan to fight on the front lines. I was around 4 maybe at the time and I remember wanting him to cook me something to eat (he was the cook of the family because my mom never did) so i went to my parents room and found him sleeping and I remember just shaking his shoulder and then ending up in a wall. My sister (i think she was 6 or 7) came in and tried to get him away from me and he ended up chasing her down the hall and she locked herself into her bedroom (took all the attention off me thankfully) and i pieces together that my mom managed to get us away from him and had some family to deal with him but besides that incident he was a truly amazing dad and loved me and my sister unconditionally I know he wasn't in his right mind at the time and I know he took great effort to never let it happen again.

Regarding the aunt who was raped by her father and was made pregnant from it, this happened to my husband's aunt whe she was about 14. This was some time in the 1950s. They lived in a very small town in KY. Because of this, her mother drove her to Chicago as they discovered the pregnancy. They came back a couple of days later, and she wasn't pregnant anymore. I don't want to get on a soapbox, but this is exactly why exceptions should be made for some cases like the treatment the aunt got in Chicago. It turned out that my husband's grandfather had systematically raped his daughters for years, and then did the same thing to his granddaughters, who were my husband's sisters and cousins. The grandfather's wife found out about it, but because of the corrupt authorities in the town where they lived, and taking into account how her church had taught her from childhood to be submissive to her husband, she felt unable to do anything about the situation. I know this sounds absolutely horrendous, but you have to remember that this happened in the 1950s and 60s in a rural town where everyone knew absolutely everyone else. This kind of child abuse was just something people didn't talk about there and then. Also the fact is that the grandmother would really probably not been believed must be considered. She was deeply ashamed, but felt cornered and helpless, which she actually was. This situation would have ruined the aunt's life. She was innocent and abused, but that's not what everyone would believe about her. The fact about what her father had done to her was something people just didn't think about. She would have been bullied, rejected and shamed by her peers and her church. Her life would have been torn apart, with any hope for her future gone. Some people might say that there is no excuse for how the situation was resolved, but they have not sufficiently considered what would have happened to my husband's grandmother, his aunt, and the fetus she carried. Life for them in their close-knit community, their town, her school, and their church would have made it impossible for at least one person to not figure it out. They would all be rejected by their community. A future life, that was not worth living was not allowed to suffer this kind of horrible life. By telling this story, I meant to simply show that this situation happens more often than people think. I'm sure everyone has their own opinions about this kind of resolution. I don't intend to argue the merits of the abstract ideas of ending a pregnancy caused by incest. This is just what happened in this instance, and it avoided a horrific life for all involved. Say whatever you want about it. I'm not interested in your opinions, and I'll just mute you, so I don't have to hear your careless and unfeeling thoughts about this topic. You won't change my mind.

I agree with you but I don't think a woman should only be allow to abort after having her body violated. It's a right everyone should have access to, no matter the circumstances.

@@lollybowser Yes. I think so, too. Uninformed people, especially lawmakers, need to see why it's so important for us to be able to choose. They need to see the faces and stories behind those rights when they are so ignorantly taking them away. I think that many of them think that they are just doing what their constituents want, but they need to go home and listen to them instead of guessing. Most of them, at the state level at least, are not bad people. They just don't really understand why they need to leave us alone to do what we want or need to do with our bodies. I mean, my husband's aunt is just one story. What about all the other women with stories out there? They are not helping or saving anyone or anything. They are just ruining people's lives. I wish they would allow themselves to be educated about the actual procedure, instead of just the propaganda of the churches. It's not what they think it is.

So the Chicago abortion allowed the man to get away with raping the girl, and keep on doing it. One of the reasons feminists used to be against abortion, because it benefits abusive men.

Not really big or important, but it felt important to my kid self when it happened. They put my Nintendo Switch Lite away somewhere without telling me and then said they didn’t know where it was. But the thing is, they didn’t lie, they actually forgot where they put it. So they didn’t exactly try to hide the truth. But they still failed to tell me they were the ones who took it, which is what made me upset since they had they had still hidden something from me. (Both my Switch and the fact that they took it, though they technically weren’t trying to make sure I couldn’t find my Switch.) The whole time I thought _I_ had lost it and was beating myself up for being too irresponsible to keep track of it and too stupid to recover it. And then they remembered what they did with it and found it. We lost it again (for much longer than the first time), but Dad found it again and I have it now.

One of these stories reminded me of those who don't celebrate holidays and what FOOLS they are! The reason doesn't matter! THIS is why GIVING IS STILL A COMMAND and you CANNOT use "It's (insert date here)" as an excuse not to do so, as MANY so called "churches" did last year just because Dec 25 was a Sunday

The religious mother that did drugs and now is very anti-everything and better than, a lot of extreme religious people, especially around my town, are actually post-rehab folks because that is how the 12 step program works, it tries to replace your drug addiction with god addiction and works quite well, and their predilection for addiction makes them become very extreme.

Around the time of my mother's funeral, my dad found old passport photos of her, grandma, and my eldest uncle from the late 60s. I think my mom was around her very late teens and he was around his early 20s when those pictures were taken. My dad showed my uncle them before the wake and he said that he was offered a job in Canada and was going to take my mom and grandma with him. My other two uncles didn't know about it either and asked if they were going with them as well. He said that they weren't planning on taking them. I guess that they were going to let my late aunt (the eldest of 5 siblings and I think she just got married around that time) or the great aunts to take care of them while they went off to Canada. But my grandmother fell ill, which prevented my uncle from taking the job in Canada and bringing my mom and grandma with him. I think that secret was not only hidden from me, it was hidden from my dad, siblings, cousin and two other uncles.

If I say it right, they were a poor family with only having a budget big enough to buy a certain amount of food. And to make sure the kids and wife ate enough the father ate only a small bit. But at the Thanksgiving there was plenty of food so he bottomed out and ate a lot

I couldn't sit through more than a few minutes of this. The censorship friendly doublespeak was just too bad. So apparently booger sugar is now double speak for cocaine ? Apparently bad touch is now doublespeak for molest? Anyone else think we need a new law just list specific words that cannot be censored? Seriously am I the genius you may genuinely need to sue KZfaq. It's just like the issue with "unalive". This could actually put kids in real danger if we absolutely cannot discuss these issues. To belittle what child sex abuse victims goes with just to keep KZfaq happy? NO!! You need to sue. Because I can't tell if it was it sexual bad touch or knocking her teeth in.
