This is what people don't do anymore.. learn what happened to avoid the same failure... Had a car with 4 catalytic converters get soaked in coolant from running around with a blown head gasket.. had to clean all 4 and get those suckers up to temp... Double checked if clogged etc.. etc... check and check and check again so you don't end up pulling the same trans or engine.. even better is not blowing out where the head bolts go and running a tap and cleaning till it's mint😊😊

There was an old timer who used to come to the mill I worked at, his name was "Pops", that's all we knew him by, and he came in an old White Road Boss like that one. This was 2000-2004 and the rest of the guys in the company were driving newer Freightliners. I asked him once why he drove that old White, and he said it was because he'd been with the company for about 20 years and that was the truck he was started in and that was the truck he was going to retire in. If I recall that one had a little 250 or 290 Cummins in it.

How does one become more competent to work on the old 3406B and E and the C15s of this world? Is there a service manual how to rebuild it with all the torque specs etc? I wanna build a fully mechanical 379 with 3406B as a working truck. Right now I'm a rookie mechanic with 10 years of truckin under my belt, being cummins trained right now. Thanks.
