ideogram drew the same images of that beech and the boat for me when I prompted it to create romans in the Americas. Must be a limited amount of training on the topic.... cos it does romans well and beeches well... but romans on beeches in the Americas it has an issue with.

I remember being at high school aged 13, reading the Eastern Roman Empire survived till 1453, and in another chapter there was a story about Columbus discovering americas only 40 years later. I remember it completely stunned me, and it is that moment that triggered my interest in history forever.

The Aztec didn’t exist during Roman times the correct answer is that they haven’t been in Mexico and they originated in the modern day unites states, what is now Colorado, Arizona or Oklahoma. They arrive in Mexico in 1300s and took out the Mayan and conquer them and so the native that the Romans would have met , are the Mayans or Olmec

Maybe it was a Spanish conquistador who left it there and gave it to a Aztec old man for his daughter in marriage 😊

Barely and with a lot of luck, that’s how. They really shouldn’t have survived the rise of the Caliphate. Everything after that was just a slow downfall until the emperor ruled only Constantinople and Epirus for many years.

The word “barbarian” originated in ancient Greece, and was initially used to describe all non-Greek-speaking peoples, including Persians, Egyptians, Medes and Phoenicians. The ancient Greek word “bárbaros,” from which it derives, meant “babbler,” and was onomatopoeic: In the Greek ear, speakers of a foreign tongue made unintelligible sounds (“bar bar bar”). Similar words exist in other Indo-European languages, including the Sanskrit “barbara,” which means “stammering.” It was the ancient Romans, who by the original definition were barbarians themselves, who first transformed the use of the term. Late in the Roman Empire, the word “barbarian” came to refer to all foreigners who lacked Greek and Roman traditions, especially the various tribes and armies putting pressure on Rome’s borders. There was never a single united barbarian group, and many of the different tribes-including Goths, Vandals, Saxons, Huns, Picts and many more-shifted alliances over the years or fought alongside Roman forces against other barbarian armies. Later scholars would expand on this use of the word when writing about attacks on cultures considered “civilizations” (be it ancient China or ancient Rome) by external enemies who don’t share that civilization’s traditions or structure. Today, the adjective “barbaric” is most commonly used to describe an act that is either brutal or cruel to the point of savagery or primitive and uncivilized (or all of the above) while a “barbarian” is a person who commits such acts or displays such characteristics. This more general-and explicitly negative-definition, when compared with either the Greek or Roman sense of the word, illustrates clearly just how far “barbarian” has been removed from its ancient roots.

I mean when did they start burning books, closing schools, and lynching philosophers in the name of peaceful baby Jesus? That seemed to cave in the skull of Classical Civilisation, we're lucky anything survived the societal collapse for later High Middle Ages monks and Golden Age of Islam scholars to copy and pass around (which wouldnt have been necessary if the fanatical monotheists hadnt burned it down in the first place, even many of the invading barbarians were Arian Christians destroying Rome in the name of God)

I think you are not fully aware of paganism. I will give you some hints - human sacrifices, child sacrifices, temple prostitution, gladiator contests, making prisoners f*ght with wild animals in colosseums. These were the products of paganism among many other things. So I for one fully support Augustine for having wanted to wip* off paganism from the face of the earth. (Augustine didn't h*te pagans, he just h*ted paganism)

Europeans could not fully abandon paganism. They thought Jesus was god, and that's quite normal. They preferred to adapt Christianity for the Pagans. However, Jews and Muslims are aware that this is not true. What I mean is that the Jews have caused a great deal of turmoil in the world. This will never end unless people wage war on the Abrahamic religions.
@rebellefleur2993

The source of the Abrahamic religions is the Jews. Although they seem to be hostile to Christians and Muslims, they prefer them to pagans. As you know, they support some Christian and Muslim countries.

Your best example is Heron of Alexandria? You were doing ok up until then, but if you want to make this point you have to avoid anything in the Hellenistic period and after it and anything in the east of Italy and near the Mediterranean. (you have a point that Greco-Roman civilisation wasn't only Greek, like the American-Florida civilisation isn't only American)

A roman trading post was found in Vietnam recently. The romans had one in Comalcalco, Mexico too. Several roman shipwrecks in the gulf of Mexico were found then sites covered up by the politically correct. Mediterranean cultures in the America's is old hat .
