You read very well from the structured lecture notes that are just to your right and at your hand level. (Yep, most don't notice those kind of things but you are not fooling me one bit!

Just "letting go" of the smear campaign is quite a challenge, but in the end the truth will reveal itself. Our silence actually pays dividends. Difficult to see when we are in the midst of the slander and downright evil lies the narc invents against us, but a learning experince we can master because we are not like them.

We unfortunately got into business with my mother-in-law before we understood the reality of who she is, but looking back it all makes sense. We have tried to go no contact to the best that we can considering they're in business together, but she has taken more money than the business has brought in, throws insults and threats regularly via text every weekend or every other weekend, It's gotten to the point where we no longer want our children around her as she speaks ill of everybody that she pretends to care about so we know this is how she would be with our children, and now she has created a narrative that all of my husband's side of the family is not speaking to him and how could he do this to his mother. How do you deal with all the family members that act like you are the problem and nobody is willing to hear you out

My in laws are toxic and I've distanced myself from them and they've out casted me and called me names. So I come out and show my love and light , they say rude things about me that I catch them saying behind a wall. They look at me weird, ignore me sometimes, blame me for anything, and down me or laugh in my face if it's a quick remark or they say it out loud to "someone else" I haven't done anything to them and have only confronted them that I love them and want to feel trust and im okay i just see bad things coming from their side...4 times in 2 years. So they eventually get nicer and lead me in to tell things about myself and try to be very open about my diet ,weight, knowledge , ect .For them to just use anything they can as a reason to down me. So I feel very hated and felt off about them since day 1 My love and heart being crushed. Now they just tried lying to me when I tried to tell the mother about someone lying to her - her fav son- anyway it's ugly there's bashed me all day and I still try to be nice and smile I want to run away with my husband as if you could just see what I deal with it's so sad I'm only 22

When the narcissist discounts who they are playing with then they learn the hard way that technology is not their fren'. All those accounts and all those server trails lead right ack to whence they came. Oh, you should turn the phone off before using it as a suppository, the hamster learned to make comments on KZfaq.

I wonder how often a crime, even down to murder is caused by some kind of narcissistic behavior. I am thinking about the movies Enough and Sleeping With The Enemy.

Yep... All my children are adults and wise to their narcissistic mother now. Sadly though, she did this kind of poisoning all through the marriage and it was not apparent to me until all but one of the children was out of the house. Now that we are divorced she stepped up her game and tried to convince my oldest daughter that I was a pedophile. My daughter almost ended her relationship with her mother on the spot.

Lisa - 2:47 Would you agree that a 3D "creation" solely from 'imagination' would require an emotional component (pos or neg) as a catalyst or crystaliser? IMO - Imagination on its own is not likely to become a 'thing' out there in the world any more than those cookies would be crunchy without being baked. 🍪👨🏻‍🍳

It's so painful. I'm in the process of going no contact with my entire family. As the skapegoat I am repeatedly gaslit and lied too by my siblings and my mother is the central force controlling it all. It's so damaging. Every time something good is happening in my life, I get weighed down by them. It's so awful to have to cut ties with everyone. I feel very sad about it 😢

Thank You Dr. Lisa. I Am a cycle breaker in My world. You have already given Me so many tools for healing but this one feels like You turned on the light in a darkroom. 💡 “Rumination is Imagination and that IS Creation.💥 I WILL Use this tool and YOU are a Priceless Blessing. Thank you again for Choosing to Heal. I Am so grateful.🥰

Sometimes I have wonder who the real manipulator is when I hear things like, “my kids”……I think the correct phrasing is “our kids”. The comments here are probably more informative than the video…..just heartbreaking. I would also like to add that the notion that the kids will go where the $$ is is just not true. They will go with the controller.

Well, I must say, the world of narcissism is a fascinating one. While many people are aware of overt narcissism, where individuals display grandiose behavior and seek constant attention, covert narcissism is a whole different ballgame. Covert narcissists are masters at hiding their true selves and manipulating those around them. And yes, they do have some rather peculiar habits that set them apart from the rest of us. One weird habit of covert narcissists is their constant need for validation. Unlike overt narcissists who seek validation through external means, covert narcissists have a more sneaky approach. They often fish for compliments or sympathy by subtly dropping hints or making self-deprecating comments. They feed off the reassurance and affirmation they receive from others, and this habit can become quite exhausting for those who have to constantly boost their fragile egos. Another strange habit of covert narcissists is their tendency to play the victim. They are skilled at playing the sympathy card and making others feel sorry for them. They will twist situations to make themselves appear as innocent victims, even when they are the ones who caused the problem in the first place. This habit allows them to manipulate others into feeling guilty or responsible for their actions, ultimately gaining control over their emotions and actions. Covert narcissists also have a knack for gaslighting, which is a rather disturbing habit. Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation where the narcissist distorts reality or denies certain events to make their victim doubt their own perception and sanity. They will subtly twist facts, change narratives, or even outright lie to make others question their own reality. It's an insidious habit that can leave victims feeling confused, doubting themselves, and trapped in an emotionally abusive cycle. Lastly, covert narcissists have a peculiar habit of being overly sensitive to criticism. They simply cannot handle any form of negative feedback or constructive criticism, often reacting with extreme defensiveness or passive-aggressive behavior. They have an inflated sense of self-importance and believe that they are above reproach. This habit can make it incredibly challenging to have any meaningful conversations with them or address any issues that may arise in a healthy manner. In conclusion, covert narcissism is a complex phenomenon that manifests in various weird habits. From seeking constant validation, playing the victim, gaslighting, to being overly sensitive to criticism, these individuals possess a unique set of traits that can be both intriguing and challenging to deal with. It's important to be aware of these habits so that we can recognize and protect ourselves from their manipulative tactics.

I'm sick of being the scapegoat. It has ruined my life and left me suicidal. I have had therapists, but I don't think they ever really got it. How do I find a therapist that is an expert in scapegoating? I don't really see it listed as a specialty anywhere and I believe it is what I need. I am about to just give up for good. I have good insurance but I really need to find someone good.

I've said it before - when I found Lisa A. Romano online, I found a person who truly gets BOTH being a survivor of adult child of alcoholics AND a narcissistic parent & spouse. I have heard others online but some don't have the shared experience of narcissism together w/alcoholism. My ears are always wide open when she speaks as one who has experienced the trauma AND overcame it to live 'above the veil of consciousness.' I thank The Lord for bringing me here bc my Soul was yearning for it. The emotional literacy learned is Gold. Like Salve to Wound. I can now give myself the validation that I never got from unsupportive family (less than Zero.)

They don't want you to heal and meet someone healthy who appreciates you-they want you to always be there for them "in case" they need you...
