The disc must be mounted so that the metal ring is oriented towards the grinder, that is, facing inward. The metal ring must be in direct contact with the backing flange on the grinder's spindle. Also pay attention to the expiration date of the disc, which is printed on the metal ring of the mounting hole.

Will the core bit leave a middle piece? If it does, did you break it off?
@thestonecraftingworkshop7490
@thestonecraftingworkshop7490 9 күн бұрын
In this case the middle bit is so small that it breaks apart naturally. With larger size core drills you will need to break out the centre pillar, I would just use a small lever. For small, 1-2 mm I would always use a solid drill bit.

Stupid question, but in hammer mode to chisel/break through concrete, without the chisel bit connecting to the concrete does the bit move up and down or only when it’s pressed against the concrete? I just got a similar one and want to make sure it isn’t broken before using it

Could we use these for cutting say spandek zink without too much wear to the blade?
@thestonecraftingworkshop7490
@thestonecraftingworkshop7490 15 күн бұрын
Sorry I really don't know, I don't think the blade would wear much but diamond blades cutting metal usually glaze over and lose their cut. I would think its worth a try as carbide blades will wear really fast on sheet metal. There are diamond blades made for metal cutting but they don't get great reviews, but maybe worth a try. Best of luck!

Very impressive 👏 onyx is a 7 or 8 on mohs!?
@thestonecraftingworkshop7490
@thestonecraftingworkshop7490 18 күн бұрын
Hi, Mohs scale is not always helpful in gauging the hardness of rocks, rocks being made up from a mixture of minerals. However this stone is Onyx marble, probably softer than 7 or 8 , maybe 5/6ish. Just to confuse the issue some rock books list a Onyx as part of the chalcedony family of rocks. That would be much harder stone. I could do a whole video on the confusing names of rocks and the relevance of Mohs scale, but not the time here! thank you for watching, cheers!

Probably not, a hand polisher like this is really for smallish jobs, the disc will quickly pick up dirt from the surface and stop working. Depending on the size of floor you will probably need a commercial floor polisher. Best of luck!
