The Exorcist isn't about the possession of Regan... It's about Fr Karras' crisis of faith. That is spelled out in the filum when Fr Merrin tells Fr Karras that they are who the demon is trying to break, not Regan.

Saw Maxxxine the day it came out and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed by the last section of the movie, the supporting characters were great for the little screentime they were given but it would’ve been lovely to see them more especially if they get killed off having built that attachment with them would’ve been awesome and make them sympathetic when they died it also felt as if Maxxxine was a bystander in her own movie with everything happening around her she felt VERY passive, I had high expectations for this film since I loved X and Pearl but the movie fell flat at the end, I think a couple more rewatches will make me rethink my opinion

The tomography procedure shown on the film wasn't used for long as the procedure was quickly mixed with computers and call computadorized tomography or CT scan and even though contrast medium is still used is done with IV nowadays and less frequently. I know all this because I'm a x-ray tech. I didn't know about the tech turned murderer. Good discussion and cool sis!👉🙂👈

Also you forgot to mention, Paul Bateson, along with the novel Cruising by Gerald Walker was the basis for William Friedkin’s 1979’s film adaptation of Cruising. It’s a weird Exorcist/Cruising connection that Friedkin would work with Paul Bateson again but only as consultant because Bateson was now in prison for being an alleged serial killer targeting gay men.
@whatthehorrorКүн бұрын
I saw that detail. And it's definitely interesting but I thought it didn't NEED to be included so I shaved it off.
@jessediaz1293Күн бұрын
@@whatthehorror it’s kind of a prominent thing tho. Because it still deals with all the Exorcist stuff and Friedkin talking about it several times how he went to see Paul in prison. I mean Friedkin had a serial killer in his cast, unknowingly and he later made one of the most controversial movies of the tail end of the 70s that impacted his career negatively because he based it partially on one of his actors. Friedkin’s move in making this movie definitely was still being part of that cursed production from 1973.

SPOILER CLUE WARNING- I loved this movie. As a cancer survivor, it hit me pretty hard. Cried more than once during the watching of this and idk who around me was aware. I completely empathized with Sammy in her quest for pizza and it could NOT be postponed to another day. She had to have that pizza TODAY and I completely identified with that. This movie is easily gonna be on my Top Ten Horror Movies of 2024. Like TRAIN TO BUSAN, its a rare horror movie that actually hit me in the feels.

First of all that's amazing to hear you came through the other side, although I'm aware the shadow never fully goes, but that is still a huge victory. I think that's why it struck me so much because of her ability to find joy in the little every day things most people take for granted. That while she was shadowed by death, she felt so alive.

Its definitely a problem with most film genres. At least for me i always think of john wick. The first film was perfect by itself, i mean ive enjoyed all the others, but that last image in the first film of him going home with a dog just didnt need anything else. I have to admit i havent seen any of the quiet place films, mostly because i didnt want to cry... Will have to try and be brave enough one day!

No the animals were not in there being burned! That is a lie that Britt spread around years later because she was called out by the cast and people for her absolutely horrible behavior during filming (demanding a heated limo be available for her only during all her scenes for one example). Also, Howie MUST ascent freely to every “scene” he encounters with the people of Summerisle. This is a crucial traditional history of dealing with the fae or the Otherworld - agreeing, making pacts, etc is a must so the idea that he is merely forced is a misreading. He must go willingly. If for example he had lost his virginity with Willow he would not have been sacrificed.
