I just came across this video I have been thinking hard about getting into cycling to try and loose weight. I find it hard to get motivated to actually do it specially the eating part. What kind of diet did you do. I would like to loose around 40 to 59 pounds. Do you have any good insight for me I would really appreciate thanks

You need to track your macros. Protein, carbs & fat. Protein 1.0 × your body weight = grams of protein. Focus on lean protein, unrefined carbohydrates and healthy fats. Stay away from the seed oils. I have a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics

I am turning 40 this year and tired of felling like crap. Started biking more and more each day, now im up to 25 miles a day and will keep pushing. Feels good having endurance grow again and not feel as winded each time.

Scared to get started. Worst weight of my life right now at 240 and have done no stretching or exercising in years. it’s all a pizza/soda gut. Because of that, I’m afraid to hurt myself or damage the bike at my weight (old 80s metal road bike) so I’m wondering what the best way to ease into it all would be without hurting myself. I would absolutely love to ride the Camino de Santiago in the fall and would be so proud of myself if I pulled it off. Any advice is very welcomed!!!

I'm not overweight, but I've been unhappy with my eating for the past few years. Despite exercising a good amount, I've gradually started to gain fat. I used to get away with it because I was so active when I was younger, but can't anymore. Thank you for sharing how you did it!

Careful dude! Definitely sick you lost the weight. The way you said “if I eat X amount of calories I just have to ride extra to burn it off”. That’s the definition of bulimia. The purging of calories through in your case exercise.

Great motivational video! Im a former professional baseball player (Pitcher) who has picked up recreational cycling in the last month now that I’m 41 and slowing down in life. Currently living in San Jose and enjoying local rides at the moment. Steven’s creek reservoir / Foohill expressway on the weekends. Similar to you I have a passion for food and have committed to kicking that habit with the intention of fueling my rides and staying disciplined. The mental clarity, drive and motivation I have to hop on a bike and go for a ride knowing my body will respond to it has been a fitness life changing experience.
