@@BoardGameNation I’ve been eyeballing this game for years. I missed it when it was in print. Was thinking about getting an out of print copy and BOOM, Renegade saved the day. I just got my copy recently. Hoping they’ll pick up Star Wars Armada. Atomic mass dropped the ball. Just when the separatists came out too.🤦🏻♂️

Well, to be honest, Axis and Allies typically satisfies my desire for heavy strategy games. So, my other go-to games are lighter and more social. I enjoy Cosmic Encounters, Wingspan, Root, Photosynthesis, and the occasional game of Carcassonne. Plus, some chess and chess variants. Other games in the same space as A&A that I have enjoyed included, Memoir '44, War Room, and Twilight Imperium. You might also enjoy those. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

Please explain Victory Point calculations. How many points are awarded to a destroyed Capital Ship. There are only 9 air fields. Which ships are considered Capital ships?

Carriers and Battleships are "Capital Ships" and players are awarded 1 Victory Point for each one sunk (page 12). You are correct. There are 9 airfields. Players score 1 Victory Point for each undamaged airfield they control at the end of their turn. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

cobra commander ability seems so much weaker than others since opponent gets to determine where the hit goes, would it be overpowered if cobra commander choose what unit got hit ?

I agree. It is very situational. Perhaps in conjunction with the Divebomb ability... CC could target the only cruiser in a group and stand land units trying to make for the 2 VP hex or the North Pole base. But, yeah, otherwise, Destro's and Snow Job’s abilities are much stronger. That is true. I meant the width of the grooves rather than the color. Specifically compared to the chips that come with 1942.2. It would have been more accurate to say that these are the same chips that come with 1940 Europe & Pacific. Thanks for watching!

I would say One tank one artillery and 5 infantry as it gives Russia a strong defence but also can support attacks really well

Certainly a valid option, but I find that Russian tanks get used less often than a fighter. The Soviets need to be able to create dead zones as they face down the Russians. I've had more success using fightera for this purpose compared to tanks. If time expires, the team with the most victory cities is declared the winner. The goal is to get to the end of a full round of play, ending with the US players turn. This is the closest to the spirit of the game. Good question. Thanks for watching!

Good close game - haven't played 1942 SE - but the sea battle in zone 48 on turn 3 - seems the Japanesse increased the chance of losing the game by keeping two fighters - and not 1 Fighter and the battleship? Amercians could have stayed - but assuming both kill 1, the Japanesse Battleship still lives. The Battleship could have then defended the two transports. I am guessing Transports can't be used as Cannon Fodder in this version also?

On the edge on if I wanna pledge or not. My friend group would love to play this. But, we are all over the country now. Idk when Id get to play. A $50-$100 game I can justify and let it collect dust. Still stings a wee bit. A $300 game… eh. I don’t know. I may see what stretch goals are reached and see what bonuses there are before making my final decision. I’ll probably get it during the kick starter or not at all.

For Destro's special ability, if the battle starts with 6 or more Joe units and after the first round of combat sustains losses to drop their forces below the 6 threshold, then his units would lose the +1 buff if he elects to continue combat, correct? Also, great job on the video. Keep up the good work, gentlemen!
