Some people in the comments said leeches aren't common in the USA which is wrong. Maybe in the state they live, but many states have a diverse and abundant population of leeches. I'm from Louisiana and leeches are very common. Obviously in swamps it is terrible, but even in forested areas, shallow water and lakes can be a prime area for them. The lake near me that many people swim at, surrounded by a drier national forest, has tons of them. Seems like every time I've gone, someone has a few on them.

Arhhgggggg! Walked Day 4 & 5 this weekend and the cleaning station at 1:10 got me! Push down on the plate to rinse the boot with gusto expecting the usual Parks Vic low or no liquid offering..... Full! Over the top of the boot, wet socks and splash up to me knees....... Awesome. Beware boot cleaning gusto!

You are so beautiful. Id love to hike with you. You might try a German sleeping pad. It folds up into a square and much smaller and lighter than that huge yellow thing. You can use it for additional back padding or put inside your pack. I used to use one of those huge folding thermarest ones and after i ditched it my pack is smaller and lighter and doesnt snag on trees when hiking. Give it a shot and youll nevet turn back.

For those of you camping in bear country, don’t bring tiger balm or any other heavily scented ointment for that matter. Unless you like to purposefully attract bears. 🐻

Just stumbled across your channel and really like it. It’s a great idea and so much work you put into it. Would love to get one but unfortunately I am located in Europe, never been to Australia and I think it will stay like this in near future. If you ever do a Europe tour, maybe you could make one for Europe too 😊 I would be your first customer!

The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why Hitler got the power, but Christ was executed as "blasphemer" and "rioter" by denunciation of clergy. This is the reason why the whole world is Sodom. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our loved ones again! :-)

I have a very important question unrelated to the content in this video: do you blanch your veggies before hiking? Or just roll the dice?
@settohike
@settohike 5 күн бұрын
I tend to blanch the I guess 'harder vegetables' like carrot/broccoli. Or vegetables that I would find weird to eat raw like eggplant/zucchini. I dont blanch things like mushrooms, beans, peas/corn, leafy greens. But also a bit of a trial and error. :)
