I assume you poured the silicone into the mould area rather than doing a push mould.
@nigeldonaldson1647Ай бұрын
It's ALLWAYS the the mould face closest to what is being cast, that is the LAST area to cure/set. it's easy to think that because most of the mould has set, the whole thing has, BUT often it hasnt, as ive often found myself. uneven curing can depend on what the mould material is.

Why is it that the silicone gel can't seem to be used as it comes from the tube?

I dont know much about this line of things but couldn't you just take the hard mold in the chamber and just chip it out and use the particles in blank molds and potentially sell and reduce the loss by possibly quite a bit??? Hi. Enjoyed your video. I need to get a sharpener for my personal use. Would you suggest a Belt sander or the wen type with two wheels. If a belt , then 2x72 is overkill for me. What else would be able to do the job. Thanks

For personal use mate if just learn to use stones. And get some nice quantity ones. Check out Outdoor555 channel. If you want to spend more like 2x72 money on a sharpener and it's only for sharpening I would buy a Tormek T4 or T8 any day, I love mine if do make sure to get the sg and SJ wheel

Probably a bit late, but I just stumbled across your channel. I bought the same lathe about 3-4 years ago. It has its limitations and is not perfect, but more than capable for what I want which is turning brass, copper, aluminium and the occasional steel. I also noticed my live centre and Jacobs chuck were rough as guts straight out of the box but a bit of oil and I never had a problem since. I also bought mine from the factory warehouse in Dandenong, Victoria. Got a good deal on the exact same lathe, and advanced starter pack. Hope yours is still keeping you happy.

What "lots" of washing up liquid mean? I assume there is water amd dish soap in the bucket. How much soap and how much water? Am I supposed to look that up elsewhere? Then exactly 300 grams of silicone sealant- good job on that direction. Other than that, there is no real directions on how to do this. Nice thought, though. Thanks!

I have a suggestion. For those who don't have a welder. Drill 4 holes in bottom of tank for legs. Then use long thick bolts with a nut on the underneath to keep them in place. quick and easy no welding required. You will have to skip the plates on the front but that shouldn't be a big deal.
@TobyFireandSteel7 ай бұрын
It's not a bad Idea bud cheers. But how do you weld the burners in or weld the 2 halves of the cylinder back together. It would really need to be a full redesign. Unfortunately to be done well we'll this one requires a welder. Though I've definitely seen forges of a different style that dont 👍🏼
@Sweyin4207 ай бұрын
@TobyFireandSteel you don't, the top would be the lid and as far as the burner goes its basically a propane torch stuck into the side. There's an excellent video on it and you can actually hear the guy explaining everything when he's making it 😅
