Nope! Actually the customer complained that I missed some fluff that got filtered in the brand new cabin filter the next day. I guess there was some left where the inlet was. But I got the smell pretty much covered I sprayed so much disinfectant and used this spray that worked well with odors from the detail guy. I guess if it still smelled she would be complaining about that than some fluff that got on the filter.

Speaking of tips. Everywhere you go either it's takeout, getting a massage, getting your hair cut, tattoo parlors etc. all asks for tips. But car repair shops don't ask for tips. Still nice customers bring us donuts once in a while. Or the nearby pizza place gives us 40% off on as many pizzas as we want for a pizza lunch for servicing the owners vehicle.

@@theoffroadingmechanic yeah it is not fair bc techs do way.... more work then a bar tender handing you an overpriced beer and expects a tip. FWIW, I no longer tip unless it is a sit down meal or a place I often visit and it's not owned by a large corp. I think tipping is supporting under waged employee and by tipping we extend this practice.

@joeblack10523 күн бұрын
That sticker thing is common at dealerships So they change the oil at say 16k then let’s say someone for whatever reason brings it in for inspection 10k later then they put another 8k on it so it goes 18k to next oil change and so on. Anyone getting service at a dealership skip the service 1 and just ask for oil and filter change Frequent tire rotation is not that important on a vehicle that is not all wheel drive as the the tread depth can be completely different front and rear unlike awd where it’s has to be similar. Not a mechanic

I just replaced the compressor, expansion valve, filter drier and condenser along with a flush on my Mitsubishi Outlander yesterday and I was having those simptoms just cool air and compressor was not shutting of on ac high. The low pressure line was getting cold all the way to the compressor and I knew something was wrong. Today i replaced the expansion valve for the old one and oh boy it solved the problem. Ac is super cold now and compressor kicks on and off like it should. This is the first time I do something ac related without any background and i find myself in a situation with a faulty new expansion valve. I wish i had seen your video earlier to avoid the head scratching I had to go trough. This is exactly what my readings were like.

This CR-V in red looks so nice. Really love how new CR-V looks like. Last year I was in market for a used car that's around 5 years old. CR-V was one of the choices. All cars I've looked at had a lot of rust underneath, while being only 5 years old. That put me off buying one. Ended up buying a Forester instead. Looked only at 2 Foresters, both were rust-free. Foresters seem to survive winters way better than CR-Vs.
@theoffroadingmechanic7 күн бұрын
No doubt that Honda has a rust issue. That is why there recalls on certain 5th generation CRV from different regions where they are more prone to rust. And that recall is to inspect and take photos of areas of the body certain mounting points under the vehicles for corrosion and it is a lot of pictures we have to submit. I think they're either trying to prevent this in the future or maybe see where some areas that can be an issue and could potentially be a recall.
@bearing_aficionado7 күн бұрын
@theoffroadingmechanic yeah my daughter's 2010 CR-V was part of that recall. Her's was all good I guess.

Surprises me with all of the technology in use in factories these days that cars still can go out the door with grossly obvious defects. When doing PDIs have you noticed differences between the vehicles leaving North American factories vs. the factories in Korea/Japan?
@theoffroadingmechanic7 күн бұрын
Korea there is no doubt about it there's a quality control thing there in my opinion not sure about it now been away from the brand for a while. But a lot of the Japanese brands we are getting now aren't even made in japan anymore. But I do feel that quality control in japan is better there than north America. But in my opinion there are other factors that contribute to quality control and that all boils down to money.

Interesting they come 1/2 qt low on oil, hmmm. 2.0 Hydrid, only engine I would consider. No 1.5L, I've read that engine is going away. No loss, imo. As you do with everything, a thorough PDI. I feel pretty safe saying, not all of them done as thoroughly. Nice job!
