Are those aftermarket valve seats instead of the stock cast ones? I need info on them as my brand new oringed head I bought has casting void on one of my intake valves that is barely sealing with minimal material. I wanted to cut the stock valve seat out and press in an aftermarket seat in place of it.

Don't be so sure the engine is done. I have blowby like this and it was an exhaust guide seal allowing exhaust into the rocker area . But mine didn't smoke from the exhaust. Just a lot of gray gasses coming out the oil cap and when I increased RPM the tappet cover would leak massive oil. I hope this helps the people who have blowby no smoke from tailpipe. Check all your exhaust valve seals

I got an 05 2500 5.9 What does it mean if I rev my engine and I take my foot off it’s still reving for 2-3 seconds after my foot is off ?

My truck has dual cp3s, and i get a studder when starting out. It gets worse as the motor warms up. I have replaced both FCAs and the controller. Any ideas on what this could be?

Amazing info. You saved me hella time. I was going to loosen everything up to raise the engine, so that the cam gear would clear that radiator crossmember. I have the dreaded timing gear cover leaking. I'm going into the motor as soon as I cut the rail.

Hey Doug had a bad injector replaced it discovered it had a crack 11 months later after I dumped 2 1/2 gallons in the crankcase I replaced the injectors from a company that rebuilds them in Pensacola Florida Pensacola diesel I have since had to pull out three of their injectors on warranty where can I get a good set of injectors it seems like there's tons of knockoff Chinese Bosch online 2005 5.9 6-speed manual stock injectors

Mine does the same thing but after it idles for a couple of minutes it will start knocking like a gas motor then clear up.

Doe any one know if you can use the original gauge cluster when converting a 12 valve to a 3 gen truck' i cant seem to get the gauges to respond, I bought the truck with out the original engine or the engine harness

Can you upgrade the 5.9 common rail block oil cooler with the 6.7? I saw on another KZfaq channel that you could. The 6.7 has one more cooling fin than the 5.9.

Love the videos man! I’ve got a 2012 Cummins. Love the truck but I sometimes have a puff of greyish/white smoke come out the tail pipe when letting off the gas. If I’m in cruise control and the truck slows itself down it will spew out the smoke for a few seconds. Any idea on what would cause it?

How are the industrial injection injectors holding up?

Just put on a cold air intake, from dead stock truck. Only 160k miles on the truck, whenever I get into the top end it seems like the injectors are starting to stick after adding better airflow from the cold air intake, will update if there is further problems. 🥲 also just ordered a MM3 from 5.9diesel so hopefully I’m not gonna be dropping another 3k on some 25-50% injectors 😭

Question, got 05 199k, studded last year, super b special, full 5” cat back,33 over injectors,stock cp, pusher pipes, cai, elbow, grid delete, smarty touch….live in fl when temp in 40s 50s 60s first start in morning truck start runs stalls, second try starts and runs, got 1800 stall triple disc, shift kit,when driving and temp below 165 it runs rough, little boost and so on, once temp reaches 165 it runs like champ boost to 40 psi, cold start RP is 7k psi and idle is 7200 psi, no white smoke at cold start, only black under heavy acceleration…ran contribution test results on sw3 -#1-99 #2-97 #3-112 #4-105 #5-89 #6-99 Cyl 1-3 have 102 Cyl 4-6 have 97

Rebuilding an '06. Had a busted crank. 6 and 7 mains had spun. Had 2 new caps installed and line honed. Bought a brand new std PAI crank. Went to install with new bearings. Tested with plastigauge and found it to be roughly 6.5 thousandth. Took everything back to machine shop who ordered it all, confirmed crank was 3 thou under sized. Swapped to another. Plastigauge cost $3.98, USE IT!!!!

I purchased my 06 back 2014 and as soon I got back in SCarolina the injectors failed. Put a set of remans in (I treat my fuel every fill up with optilube XPD) and now I have 130,000 miles on the odo. My question is when should I start looking to have a set of injectors in? What brand of injectors( how much) and should I go with remans or new injectors. thanks

Just checking in for an update on how the G-Plus 30-row coolers are working? Any issues? I assume you ran then side by side in front of the radiator on your 3rd Gen. Any pic of the final install you could share? I didn't see a video of the install in your feed. I'm planning to set up the same system, install new transmission cooler lines, and also bypass the heat exchanger on the block. Thanks for any update info!

Do not buy the Redhead steering box. I have gone through 2 of them now and the one I have currently on they won't warranty as I have had it on for 14 months. I have factory size wheels, never off road and Maybe 10000 kms on it at the most. They do not stand behind their so called superior product. Don't waste your money.

Great video, just fixed this on my 05' 5.9 G56. I lost door speaker, dome light, and unlock/lock capabilities. Spliced them back together and all is good. Hooping it will last. Any feedback on the longevity of your fix?

I bought a 2006 single cab 4x4 5.9 with 6 speed that had about 265k on it, I don't drive her very much, 5 years later only has 292k.... no idea how long those injectors have been in there. I do a new Baldwin filter every 2500 miles, and I add Hotshot Secret fuel additive every fill up. Almost no sign of them being bad as far as I can tell, and yet, they are on my mind every time I light it up. Injectors are the Killer Dowel Pin of the otherwise awesome 5.9 24v Common Rail lol

Did yoy guys have clearance issues with the front axle and the 12v stock oil pan? I havent found a 12v oil pan that has alittle more clearance for the front axle. My oil pan has scrap marks from the axle grazing it :/ . Ive still got my common rail motor but idk if the pan will swap over or not to the 12v. (1992 12v Ve pump swapped)

I have problem with my dodge ram 2007 5.9 diesel cuming. Theres a noice in the motor and idk what it is. I replaced the injectors, replaced the rod bearings, and the noise is still there. Could there be another cause for the noise. It is like a knocking sound. Thank you in advance, hope you're able to help

My 2004.5 vin C 325/600 Has what feels like and sounds like a rod knock. Under 1000 miles on a rebuilt block, head, turbo, injectors. 100% stock everything. The knock is intermittent and very difficult to replicate sometimes. It does it at 1500-1700 rpm while cruising lightly if I feather the throttle to accelerate a bit. That's the only way it'll do it. Is this a sign of a bad injector? I've been to 5 diesel shops and they still can't nail it. 🙏Please and thank you.

My 8.3 has about the same amount of smoke comming from the exhaust and oil coming out the dip stick, but when i pull the oil cap off its not nearly as bad as this with no smoke at all, do you think its a fuel injector or too much oil?

Three check valves work much better take one out of the piston and tap it into the inlet fitting. It fits.

For the past couple weeks my '03 3rd Gen will cut-out and blow white/gray smoke whenever I get on the pedal "somewhat" aggressively a/k/a not "passing a car" aggresive, just medium-ish throttle input. However, if I go easy on the pedal, I can keep the cut-out issue from happening and the truck continues to avg 17+ mpg around town. That said, I did notice the fuel pressure reading on my Quadzilla iQuad is reading in the 50s (vs the normal 10-12 psi) which I originally figured was nothing more than a bad Quadzilla lift pump pressure gauge sensor, however, now I'm not so sure and thinking the excessive lift-pump pressure may be a sign of something more ominous, such as a bad "open" injector back-feeding pressure into the rail(?) If anyone has any thoughts on what might be going, by all means, please let know... thanks!

The rev test on my 2003 5.9 is not looking good. The RPMs on the way down are not smooth and I can hear what sounds like injector tapping in short bursts. Is there a way to contact you to get your opinion on how they sound?
