Missing all the fun editing and casual feel of the older seasons - this new season feels like I'm watching any other standard cooking show, down to the light jazz in the background. 😢

I’m making this again for dinner tonight - It’s so delicious! - but I’m wondering if I should set it aside after it’s done the initial oven brazing, and wait to do the high heat closer to dinner time?

Just a constructive criticism, let the guest talk. I hardly see guest finishing a sentence. All the best.

Glad that you're back! Do you have any tips on wine pairing for this dish? Thanks in advance!

For the caller named Kate - how he responds to what you’re doing is important. If he doesn’t know his way around a kitchen - run.

I msde this soup today. My daughter and i watched Allison's videos and i saw this recipe. Its so delicious I made the appke cake too, super easy and comforting. I have her dining in cookbook, will get sweet enough now. Love the videos, so funny and learn so many great recipes.

I love that her first date with max was in red hook. I miss that place so much 🥲

This “new” formatting and editing is so incredibly soulless, and totally destroys what made the original show so great. IMO of course.

When I lived in L.A. I used to make artichokes for my dog and me. She LOVED them. ( She was a top tooth artichoke scraper. ) You have such a wonderful channel and I love David too.

Bowen Yang just gave you a big endorsement of this soup in the NYTimes. When his mother approvingly asks “Who made this soup?” He replies “You’re not going to believe this; it’s an American white woman” 😂

do u have any other ideas besides garlic, lemons, anchovies, dill and salt. It's SO OVERPLAYED at this point
@lavenderamethyst60504 күн бұрын
LOL who doesn’t use salt in their cooking? And many, many recipes rely on garlic. Are you allergic to flavor? Whatever. She’s done a billion things without those ingredients. She has an entire dessert cook book, a famous cookie recipe, a Passover and multiple Thanksgiving shows, etc. I think you just don’t like her and need to find someone else.
@grainofsalt21134 күн бұрын
@@lavenderamethyst6050 You are ridiculous. None of those things are overly flavorful. She uses the exact same shit in every single recipe which means her stuff has ONE flavor profile. It's BORING, lacks creativity, and repetitive

Love this! I too miss David and Dan and their comments and the casual vibe of it all, but change is change. It'll evolve into its own new thing ~ and the space, I mean. Pay no attention to the nay-sayers! It's gorgeous and genuine and accessible. So glad you are back! (ps, whoever you are: it's not that they are men and Alison is not great without men. They were PEOPLE who added a great vibe. Obviously Alison is the ride or die.)

Going to make this tonight, but im going to add garlic, mushrooms, tumeric, red pepper flakes, some ham steak cut into small pieces, shaved then sliced parsnip (its like sliced peels), one diced onion...and instead of white wine vinegar, i have an infinity vinegar bottle i just add to as it gets used. Might think of something else along the way
@spartangamer18 күн бұрын
ended up adding all the dill/scallions/sour cream/half cup of extra heavy cream to it with the kale since my mother decided not to stay for dinner...even though shes the one that on a whim got leeks so i got everything else to make it. then made some meat tortellini as an option and served it with the bread i had originally gotten for the soup's accompaniment. ended up fantastic with or without her, thank you for the inspiration.

Unlike the thousand people that are sh*ting on the new vibe of these videos, I think it’s refreshing! I love that Home Movies is growing and maturing - it only feels natural as we sit and watch you blossom as a person! We all evolve.

Can't say I'm a fan of the new format - where did Alison's personality go? We were watching to laugh with her and feel some joy at end of a hard week. These shorter monotone video's with no energy feel hour-long episodes. its great that you felt an evolution was needed but, change is good! ... but think you got rid of the good stuff that brought us back episode after episode.

A true Anchovy question I’ve had, is there any concern of the tiny bones that are in them? Doesn’t stop me from eating them, but what’s the general consensus?

I love watching a woman repeatedly ask men to stop doing something and have them continue to do what she asks them not to do. And yes, that was passive-aggressive behavior.
