This was just what I was looking for! I have been wanting to try making a turn shoe and was looking for inspiration. I live just 20 mins outside of York so, so this coppergate shoe is perfect for me!

Thank you so much for this! I knew I wanted to get into band weaving, but I was having a hard time figuring out what method I wanted to do and what kind of loom I would need. I'd seen the results of inkle weaving, and of card weaving (I love the patterns I've seen from card weaving), but I didnt know you could card weave on an inkle loom. Ashford, here I come!

Might make myself one of these. Trying to get into tablet weaving and struggling bc I bought a back strap weaving kit, and trying to learn it all while also trying to maintain tension with my body has been taking the fun out.

I want to try a super basic pattern with just a different color on the outside edges, 2" wide by 110" long. How many cards do I need to manage that, please?

Did any of the Native American tribes use tablet weaving for their textiles? Some of the detail work they did indicates that tablets would make their job much easier, but I've only seen them finger weaving or using rudimentary heddle+shuttle work. I'm preparing to weave a tumpline and would appreciate any advice on the authenticity of the use of tablets for the task.

Hello wise one! I have a question! I have a long band that i want to shorten and make into a keychain loop. I have clasps for the ends, so I need the end of the band to not have any fraying. If I sew the ends of the bands and then just cut it, will that be strong enough? Usually I use your method #4 from this video to make my chokers to size and then cut right after the end and use glue, and it seems to hold up alright. But I've never cut a long band! I would be so grateful for your advice!

If I find a pattern I like but it doesn’t have the gray marks for going forward or backwards, how do I figure that part out?
@chrissys682121 күн бұрын
I think I may have figured it out by listening to the tablet weaving designer video you had posted. I have to say I can not wait for my loom to get to me next week. I'm ready to get started! and that all thanks to your videos!! they are great and so informative, and you are just wonderful to listen too :)

I love how you include the setting up of the loom as well in your videos. I am fairly new to your channel as my son has just got into reenactment as a viking/anglo saxon and i am very excited to help with his costumes. I had no idea how to do tablet weaving but your videos fill me with confidence that i can copy your actions. Many videos dont go into as much detail and i felt at a loss before i found your. Thank you so much!

I just learned how to tablet weave yesterday, and I am hooked! Our wonderful teacher does Viking reenactment/ history and she has 13 Osburg(sp) looms her husband built. She pre warped them for us and let me borrow her loom so I could finish. I am so glad I found you! Your overview is exactly what I was looking for. So well done! Thank you!
