Super cool to see your success, Susan!! I took a couple of your con-ed courses almost a decade ago now and look how you’ve grown in your practice, understanding and ability to communicate these difficult to explain ideas!! Absolutely awesome, cheers :) P.S. Hi Braeden! Of course! I remember you. I remember you seeing me a few years later and sharing the story of the lady at the park that started having seizures and how you used Tai Chi in the moment to help her. Yes, my practice has certainly changed and expanded. I teach live streaming 3x a week, and still teach a few in person classes too. Plus the depth of practice has grown tenfold. It has been such a fulfilling journey. Thank you for reaching out and commenting. I think it is great for others to read that students from my past are still in touch! I hope you are doing well. And how inspiring to me (and hopefully others) that you have kept up the practice!

@@InternalTaiChi how you feel you got their joints?
@InternalTaiChi3 күн бұрын
@@PalaniInn I think this is where things can get tricky for folks. Because I am a therapist, I am used to feeling and sensing other people's joints. But as you could see in the video, a lay person can do it too. I suggest trying it on yourself first. Gently grasp your forearm and twist the fascia (this is a fairly light touch) until you can feel it connect to your own elbow. Then continue up to your own shoulder, then down the spine and all the way down to the feet. Once you can feel it on yourself, you can easily transfer that awareness to another person.

@@InternalTaiChi What if you were actually genetically related, like part of the same family..? That would be doubly freaky, but, I guess, in this wide and cumbersome world, to find even a few companions along the Way, people we feel simpatico with, is a blessing. Beware of piano players who only play by rote or frustration..! Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder and thus we might say when we are all beholders, beauty is...or to make it faster up the hill, kill ego, and whatever we do or see or hear, thereafter, is transformed...what we thought to be noise has notes far surpassing simple surprise, but no, we should return to coincidence or coincidentia oppositorum, the nondual dual, essentially negative capability. Some of us are teachers; we like to learn; we ask question, teach ourselves and others, loving the journey of parceling know-how, finding joy in discovery, utility, smiles, and yelps of knowing, play, as if for the first time, and there are others who tow the straight but difficult line of the tightrope walker, part art, part magic, silence on the score of 'teaching', where even learning is mistress merely to the joy of the mesmerizing dance. Or, it may be that we divide unnecessarily between novice and expert. The Tao is for everyone...and the joy is endless...

It you are trying it and not getting results, it is likely that your touch is too deep. You must access the layer between the skin and on top of the muscle, not in the muscle. It is just enough pressure to create a gliding of the skin. Once you have that, then you can feel it connect to the elbow, then use your intent to connect to the joints. I will be making more videos. Feel free to email with specific questions.

Why don't u push on the stomach instead of the chest.
@InternalTaiChi5 күн бұрын
Hi Aaron, the less contact I have with the least amount of input is most effective technique. If I move in to the stomach that would alert the other person too much. Instead use a light non invasive touch, connect to the fascia and issue. 😊
@Aaron-kp5ns5 күн бұрын
@@InternalTaiChi Wow really if u sneakily touch their stomach would they still be moved since their center of gravity is lowered and that is the strongest point I'm their body. So with mastery of control or center of gravity can u lean to control small spaces of gravity independently of oneself???
@InternalTaiChi4 күн бұрын
@@Aaron-kp5ns I see what you are asking. In the technique I am using you are less concerned about their center of gravity. You can touch any part of their body and connect to the fascia which is actually the outer part of their body, not inner. Imagine touching a balloon surface and rolling it. It is like that. Not going inside the balloon.

Thank you for this lesson which will be helpful to two of my friends who have knee pain!! How to increase the mobility range of frozen shoulder joint due to stroke?
@InternalTaiChi6 күн бұрын
Frozen shoulder is a complex condition. In fact, I had frozen left shoulder about three years ago. I used the Qigong movement in the video below to rehabilitate my shoulder, gently, slowly. I now have full range of motion and strength in that shoulder. I also did gentle external rotation movement, first passive range of movement, then active assist, then gradually over the weeks added a bit of isometric resistance. Finally, I was able to add gentle moving resistance. Eventually it resolved. I suggest you look at my Shoulder series videos, and also the Qigong movement in the video: (even though it says Sciatica pain, it is great for shoulder too). but how do you visualise/think about your legs (upper, lower, knees)? given that we're sinking our weight/qi into our lower half and through our feet, where does the expansion/peng focus 'go'?
@InternalTaiChi7 күн бұрын
We do not divide the body in half. Instead feel a flowing downward with a release of tension, and once the tension releases and is cascading downward, you might feel a natural whole body floating. So it is both a release downward and a floating upward. Imagine an empty vase. Now pour water into that vase. The water is heavy and naturally falls downward into the vase. However, the water level, as it fills the vase, rises and moves upward. That is the feeling or visualization you can carry for your whole body. Hope this helps! Thanks for the question.

Hi Joan. There are many other benefits to doing this type of work beyond the martial art application. Connecting fascia connects us in ways that It is hard to describe. It's joyful. It's energetic and it's a non threatening catalyst toward positive change in oneself. The "parlor trick" martial art application is the lowest hanging branch. And just because I demonstrate this simple technique does not mean it is in effective, especially with highly skilled practitioners.
