It is very upsetting that fundamental differences are being raised on our beliefs. It is best that a shut down of all lectures is observed until these fundamentals have a consensus among the torch bearers of Sanathana Dharma and a collective and uniform announcement made on them. What is most dreadful is bad intentioned "scholars" of other religions like Zakir Naik and company will use this to their advantage and maximize the creation of disharmony among Sanathanis. People like Dhushyant Sridhar must discuss his book in detail with the current torch bearers of Sanathana Dharma including his own Guru, obtain their consensus and only then release his book to public. It is obvious he has not done that. I for one will not purchase or pass comments on the book for or against until the book has the blessings of *All* recognized scholars on the fundamentals atleast. I am glad that though I registered for attending his lecture in Singapore, I could not turn up. Perhaps it has been a blessing in disguise and that Lord Rama prevented me from attending it on purpose. I take it as HIS Blessing.

I am truly amazed to see people still taking one DS so seriously. Who is he? An authority in Ramayana? The hell NO ! . He is just a media savvy person who is just interested in filling his pocket. As far as I am concerned, he is just a passer by dog who is barking. Should we care? Many like him in the past from various parts of India have also stated Ramayana as 7000 years prior to the present age. This is total BS. Just ignore DS. There are countless references in Valmiki Ramayana that point to a fully civilized society. My personal estimate is, 1.8 to 2 million years since the Ramayana age. Presence of four tusked elephants ( Gomphothere as per a Wiki link, this was extinct around 1.6 million years before), very tall humans, flying crafts of a different kind, rakshasaas who looked significantly different from humans etc all point to a time frame when those existed and that isn't 7000 years or 14000. VAARANISCHA CHATUR DANTANTHAI...PARVATHA PAKSHINO BHAVAT...... EKAAKSHEEM EKA KARNAAM CHA, ...... AKARNAAM SHANKHU KARNAAM CHA MASTHAKO.... THE SWAYAM PRABHA incident (space time distortion and teleporting) we can not reason based on our understanding of science today - the techniques were far superior, for example, flights weren't based on propulsion systems. In certain parts of the world, even today, there are reports of seeing similar weird creatures as in the above partial sloka. To make modern science popular, the vedic understanding of life and associated concepts have been *****heavily supressed**** to make people believe we evolved from stone age. Darwins theory of evolution will straight go to the bin if the truth emerges. Modern science cannot reason out many phenomena cited in vedic texts, for example, Newton himself in his Principia Mathematica clearly states that he does not know what causes gravity but the effects are covered. Many mathematical concepts including Fourier transforms and infinite series have been detailed by vedic mathematics in ancient times as slokas but that does not mean this is exaggeration or just poetry. A full dwapara has passed with 800,000 plus years. Now 5000 plus Kali years. Simple arithmetic should drive the point that it has been cose to 2 million years since Ramayana. In the age of Kali, people like DS are required because they will emerge as ambassadors of Adharma (initiation of cracks and once the propagation starts, the failure will follow, just similar to material failure) as clearly stated in Bhavishya purana. Also, the "BAHU KRITHA VESHAHA" in Baja Govindam is meant to cover people like him - UDARA NIMITTAM is the trigger. I am only worried about younger generation who would fall prey to these silly texts and 50000 years from today (say) Ramayana would read Rama kidnapped Mandodhari and find its place in a shelf with Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn. Just wearing a namam or vibhoothi on the forehead doesn't mean much if practices aren't aligned. Not just DS, there is another noble soul from Maharashtra (see youtube) who is also claiming that Ramayana happened just 14000 years back. He just fell short of saying that he and Rama were classmates in a gurukula during treta yuga. I have quoted some Sanskrit words above in English- please excuse - i dont have the time to set it in Harvard-Kyoto or Devanagari. DS is BS. Nothing more. I had posted this in FB link earlier but had deleted it and posting it in a modified form.

🙏In Ramayana, Sri Valmiki has a sloka (1.18.20) that mentions only the birth Month (Chitra), the Thithi (Navami), the Laganam (kataga) the Star (Punarvasu) and not the year! Also Sri Rama’s birth was mentioned as a divine incarnation of Sriman Narayana, the supreme god head (the Omni potent, the Omniscient ,and the Omnipresent). 🙏There are several references in the Vedic literature that Sri Rama’s birth happened during Treta Yuga of the Vedic cosmic cycle. Of the Ten well known Avathrams of Sriman Narayana, the first four (Matsa, Kurma, Varaha, Nrisimha, and Vamana) happened during Kritha Yuga. 5th and 6th (Parusurama and Rama) happened during Treta Yuga; 8th and 9th (Balarama and Krishna) happened during Dvapara Yuga. 🙏The 10th the Kali Bhagavan shall be incarnated during the current Kali Yuga comprising 0.432 million years of which we have JUST crossed around 5200 years (3200 years before CE and 2000 years after CE!!!!). 🙏The four Yugas (known as one chathur Yuga) Kritha, Treta, Dvapara and Kali constitute 4.32 million years. Modern science estimates our planet earth to be about 4.54 billion years old which corresponds to about 1000 chathur Yugas! 🙏Jyotisha is a Vedanga of Vedic literature and can be used in simulation models to analyze various aspects of time, dates and stars. Any one using any such simulation models should state the limitations of their simulated results. Especially in the cosmic cycle nature of the universe, there could be more than one incidence of coincidences may occur that will have to be explained in the results and discussion section of the research publication, if any. For example one such occurrences could be 7500 years (5500 BCE). This is the latest coincidence in Kali Yuga but not the all. So if the model has the capacity to simulate full cosmic chathur Yugas, then one can possibly find the earliest or the first occurrence to be in the Treta Yuga! 🙏So let us try to understand the scope and limitations of any such analytical tools to Vedic literature which are time eternal 🙏Sarvam Srikrishnarpanamasthu

Sri Mathe Ramanujaya Namah: There must be several reasons why our own acharyas ("saints") like Swami Sri Ramanujacharya, Sri Adi Sankara and Sri Madhvacharya and all acharyas following them in their Sidhantham (philosophy) did not say anything about Perumal Shri Rama's birth (as 5000 odd BC) in any of their commentaries though they have written so many commentaries on Vedas and associated texts, as far as I have heard. These reasons must be best known to them only. We must therefore learn from our Gurus. What is important to us, is imbibing and adhering to Perumal Shri Rama's qualities in our daily life. Secondly, do we really need to prove scientifically about our bhakthi, faith and beliefs and about our Gods to non-believers? Answer is an emphatic "NO". I understand Swami Rangarajan Narasimhan has taken this initiative to educate all of us with accurate knowledge through experts on SriVaishnavam. Thanks to Swami Rangan ji and Swami Rangarajan. As Swamiji put it, do we have "GNANA" (knowledge) to time the timeless? Obviously, not.
