I want to get a Japanese 3DS (specifically the New 3DS LL) so I can get it for cheaper, and kinda for the the pink color, but I know barely any Japanese and I heard that doing this can get rid of the eShop, and that's apparently still bad even with it shut down because it gets rid of the ability to update games and use Pokémon HOME. Besides all that, I haven't heard much about the downsides. I'm mostly, if not only going to use my 3DS to play Kirby games, and I don't think those will need any updates, but I'm still a bit nervous to region swap it because of what I've heard online. I'm not like the people who would take the time to completely memorize the the 3DS UI just to avoid region swapping it, I just wanna be able to understand the language in the console. I'm aware that hacking your 3DS region unlocks the games, but that's not really enough for me. I'm confused, what should I do? And also, thank you if you read this all the way through :3 I might copy this wall of text and post it somewhere else, but idk. I just need help deciding whether to do this or not

I've had one of those cards since like 2008. I'm pretty sure there was a timebomb because i have issues saving progress. For a while it works, but sometimes the last save is gone, and then at some point everything is gone. Also some games won't open at all anymore. Do you think buing a new R4 card would fix the issue? I'm not a tech person, is the sd card fine or could that be damaged as well?

Great video. Is there any other way to tell if a card is a R4 card apart from the sticker on the front? I recently bought a DS game card, and it opened onto Deep Labyrinth, but where the R4 sticker would be the company's put another sticker there ("508 games in 1", etc.). The card appears the same otherwise, except the opening menu was different from the one in your video. Thanks.

As far as I know I have the same card. I get the Deep Labyrinth when I put the r4 card in my 3ds, formatted using your steps with a 32gb card. When trying to boot it up I just get “Loading…” on a black screen infinitely. And idea how to fix this?

might consider it if you don't have to plug it in the wall outlet.

I followed your this guide with and used the format tool and stargate3ds files from the links in your description and I got the same result I mentioned on your earlier video. This time instead of re-partitioning the one card, I tried different cards. Four separate 32GB Sandisk Ultra cards work without issue, however a 128GB Sandisk Max Endurance and 128GB Sandisk Ultra both do not. I also tried a 64GB Samsung Evo Plus card and it did not work. Maybe a hardware revision difference as I got my Stargate 3DS locally. I might try getting another from AliExpress to see if I have better luck.

Little tip, if you are trying to format an sd card that is larger then 32GB then you will need to use a special tool like Rufus.
