Have a cedar sided house and been using oil/diesel mix for many years. I use a Wagner power sprayer to spray the mix works great

I hope you've got something to keep it from getting STOLEN. I have a little 5X8 trailer that I welded silo hoop with a hook, and the other end has a lock. I drive the silo hoop through the wheels.

03:26 oh yes, I will use this on my deck and outdoor furniture! My wife and I can then enjoy the summer outside while inhaling those sweet, sweet, cancerous fumes.

Wood is flammable. We should add oil to it.

The oil slick all over the ground when it rains is a bonus. 😅 Like rainbows following you everywhere you go.

Other than having oil run off every time it rains... it will work, but terrible for the soil. If you don't care about the "wood" look just clean it off and paint it with rhino liner. If you want the wood look, get Spar varnish. Been used for centuries to protect ship masts from sun and exposure.

You oil point is good but don't treat the underside it will retain moisture and accelerate rot.

Vice grips were on the wrong way around and you could have at least covered the wheel with gaffer tape to protect it.

People will say stupid stuff no matter what you do. Saying that repurposing used oil is bad for the environment, is one of the dumbest statements ever. Where would "you" prefer it? In the landfill instead? Or on my trailer that never touches the ground.

Since when has diesel and motor oil been free? I think I'd rather not play with fuel and motor oil that cause cancer and buy a bucket of water seal.lol what a strange thing to share with the world....

If you want/need good treated lumber (and are not averse to some DIY) keep an eye out for telephone/electric pole replacement going on. Those are still treated with non-environmentally friendly chemicals. I've gotten several for free from accidental pole damage (car hits pole) the utility people will usually load the broken one right onto your trailer. I've found several pole replacement crews who will happily text me when they are on a run in my area - it saves them time.

There is a big difference in crude oil coming from the ground and contaminating the ground with used oil. The oil you spill on the ground will contaminate the groundwater and everything that relies on that groundwater. However I do think this could be a good use for used oils and it's not like you're just dumping gallons of it on the ground.

Linsseed oil smells better, works better, and does not cause cancer. Also you really didn't think about drag when you placed those spare wheels, cant think of a way that creates more drag other than mounting a sail on it..

Check your local laws first. Most states this is illegal and will result in massive fines and jail time.

Nothing that comes from crude oil is environmentally friendly. The only 'free' product you mention is spent/used motor oil.

If you want to preserve the tires of the trailer especially the spare just rub on used or new brake fluid. Brake fluid can ruin paint by acting as a paint remover but it's principle job is to preserve the rubber inside the brake cylinders and pump.
