protip: if you want an even better splatter screen, put a paper towel on top to absorb the oil that still splatters through. trim the edges by cutting or folding.

So Cast Iron usage and Care tips: Always preheat the pan over med-hi to hi heat(helps is stay "nonstick") Allow your pan to cool before you clean it, putting the pan straight into water while its hot could warp your pan. I like to just wipe it our with a paper towels if its just a little greasy and doesn't have any stuck on bits If it needs true cleaning use hot water with a minimal amount of soap and a dish cloth. (you can us a soft dish brush if you have a really stubborn stuck on spot, BUT use sparingly) Make sure you dry it completely before putting it away. My cast iron pans aren't enamel so I apply a thin coat of oil after drying but for my enamel Dutch oven I just make sure its good and dry. The enamel will discolor which sucks but the pan will last. Enjoy! Once you go cast iron and get the hang of it you won't go back From your Renewed Carni sister in Southern Louisiana

I find old rusted cast iron pans and restore them.. unless there is food stuck onto the pan, you don't need to clean it. You can just wipe with your cloth or just save the fat to cook in later. Clean the pan by placing it in the sink and running the hottest water you have to dissolve the grease. Do not ever use soap on a cast iron pan unless you want to start all over with your seasoning. It takes months to build a perfect non stick seasoning so you don't want to have to start over. Use a palm scrub brush with wood handle and compost it when it wears out. Run the hottest water you can stand into the pan while scrubing in circles till it is clean. Clean is when there is no food stuck to the pan. The goal is not to strip it of oil! Shake the pan dry and then place on a burner and heat up till all of the water evaporates out of the pan. Add fat to the pan, preferably lard. Swirl it around and then remove from heat. Let cool enough so you don`t burn your self, but Don`t let it cool too much, then wipe the excess with a lint free towel. If the outside wasn't enamel then you'd use that fat soaked towel to seal the outside. Then just put away in the oven or leave on the stove top. I like to store it upside down in the oven so that no dust ends up in the pan. Do not leave excess oil in the pan or it will not seal properly. To use the pan heat it up just before smoking then add fat , swirl and then place your food in the pan. If the fat is rippling outward it is ready. If you don't get the pan hot enough, it will stick. You can choose not to add rendered fat to the pan but you might have a hard time developing a 100% non stick seasoning. Once your seasoning is perfect you should be able to make an omelet without a crumb of residue stuck to the pan. Some expensive pans come with a really good seasoning so you may not have to wait for that but if not you can always speed up the process using the oven. Use a splatter screen. Cast iron can take some practice. Good luck! Here is link for scrub brush: Palm Pot Brush- Bamboo Round 3 Packs Mini Dish Brush Natural Scrub Brush Durable Scrubber Cleaning Kit with Union Fiber and Tampico Fiber for Cleaning Pots, Pans and Vegetables www.amazon.com/dp/B07V43JT35/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_RFX14ZS1NEXH73ZPHDNA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 If something ever gets really stuck on you can use a fine stainless steal chainmail scrubber but don't use it every time.

@ Steak and Butter Gal, as a precaution, giving cooked bones can splinter and rip up a dog's intestines. I know this from experience. One of my dogs consumed some meat with a small bone. Because of my mistake, he had bloody stools and so I took him to the vet. He was put on medicine and a special diet until his intestines were healed. Raw bones are safe, as any vet would agree.

New-er to your channel and have started my own carnivore journey. I am 6 days in as of today, and find that I am not at all hungry. Today I tried to eat this morning and only got 4-5 bites in before I felt stuffed. I am not opposed to fasting, I have been doing 16/8 and 20/4 IF over the last month or 2. Are these 2 combined why I am not hungry? IF adapted with the addition of filling meat only? Just curious, not used to being full for so long.

Hello! I've got an answer for you regarding the lamb vs beef fat. Since pretty much all of the toxins are stored in the fat of the animal (conventional cows) and lambs tend to be far more picky regarding their diets, and most lambs grace on grass.

I'm in Sweden! 😃🇸🇪💕 Here in Sweden we can buy a round net you can put on top of the pan that prevents most fat from spraying everywhere.

Can I ask if having yellowish nails happen to some of you since carnivore? I noticed that and how long for hair to regrow, could you adress that if you have a chance? Thank you so much for your channel Bella!
