Thanks 😊. I don't paint the bottom. Some do but I don't. It's a bit of a decisive subject. Dodger was built in 1986 and the bottom us still as good as new . It's to do with the low oxygen content on the bottom of the canal.

Hi Richard. Some people paint the bottom but I don't. The oxygen level at the bottom of the canal is very low so you don't really get corrosion. I inspect it every time and it's like new. I would however paint it if I was in deeper water. Thanks for watching. Del and the hounds 👍

There's a big pump at the bottom that pumps the water out. You can see it in the vlog as I walk down the steps into the dock 👍

I was putting 1 slap coat on and 2 thin roller coats but decided on 2 slap coats due to time constraints and the fact that I'm back out in 2 years anyway. I would recommend 2 to 3 slap coats and will do another vid in 2 years to see the results. Thanks for watching Martin 👍

Hi Bob. Yes it was a horrible job. I managed to get on 2 slap coats (thick coats) . I'm coming out again in a few years so didn't go mad plus I didn't have the time. Each coat took 5 ltrs of paint and there was enought paint in the kit to do 3 coats if I wanted. I really can't recommend sml enough. A really down to earth company who were always there at the end of the phone if I had a question.

@@Boatdog_Traveller oh I'm going to get the same model Ebike as yours in a month or so and I'm also getting a large dog trailer to tow on the back of it so I can do a massive amount of shopping in one go , I don't drive so it will make such a difference having that sort of set up

@@Boatdog_Traveller thanks mate that's put me at ease I'll definitely be buying one and hooking up a dog trailer to the rear wheel for shopping , I used to have a gunai full sized fat tyre Ebike when I had my house and it was brilliant it was just far too heavy and bulky to get on and off the boat hence I was looking at folding ebikes

Cheers dopeydan. Yes we've been busy doing normal life stuff but we've been busy for a reason... the reason being that we're back off travelling on narrowboat Dodger next month camera in hand so looking forward to be vloggin again 👍

Like you , we have birds arrive in the UK from Africa in the spring months. We have swifts, house Martins and swallows. They love to dart around the boat as we chug along. I can only imagine the pain that you must of gone through losing them. They are such gentle souls. Sadly archie and Spike are getting on now. I'm dreading the day when they draw their last breath. That's why we live the way we do trying to give them the best life ever free out in the countryside away from the rat race that we call life.

@@Boatdog_Traveller I’ve had 8 retired racing dogs (all black as they are the most overlooked) and it always breaks your heart to lose them. Unfortunately I’m not fit enough to have any more and I so long for one, never been without a dog, hence it’s lovely to see yours
