Those midges are nothing, our (Northern Ireland) lough Neagh midges are 20 times bigger and there's millions of the wee beggars lol

Always a pleasure to remember Craig. He taught me so much about just simply enjoying the process and I loved watching his videos so much. Thankful I found such a great teacher ❤

Photographs are supposed to sit in a drawer for multiple decades and not to be shown to anybody. They hide away in a drawer and you have a lovely feeling knowing that it's all a secret and you're the only person allowed to see

I've got a Mamiya 7ii superb camera for Landscape but not good for portrait photography. Your photography is very good. Love the photos 📸 Do you use an external light meter??

I recently ordered an MPP and went looking for videos on them and found Craig's videos, which are a real gold mine for LF. unfortunately Google has also informed me that Craig passed last year. If anyone who knew him comes across this post, please know that his videos still bring a great amount of knowledge and joy to this particular niche corner of the internet.

Fun to see where/when it all started. Great series that I still watch and relax to. You are very missed, Craig…. even as far away as the States. Your loss will always be felt.

When you shield the film holder with the slide as you take the photo that is exactly what I do as well. Cheers, Paul

What was the purpose of ripping off the leader and then folding the film upon itself - just at the end of the video?

Internet is a weird place. You search for videos on a film you are meaning to shoot, discover a video which you very much enjoy, decide to look through the other videos posted by the same person, and within 5 minutes realise both him and his great dog have passed away. RIP both.

Dear Craig, Dear brother in photography, and dear Prentis family. It is with great sadness and tears in my eyes, and belatedly, that I have just learned of your disappearance at the start of 2023. I was wondering why you no longer published videos. I told myself that you were taking care of yourself to come back and make us dream with your magnificent images of your native England. Craig, we will miss you and your dog, I loved seeing you walking in this English countryside in the middle of these forests with magnificent trees. But, you are not completely far from us, we still have this magnificent gift which are the videos that you left and which mean that we will never forget you. Dear Brother Photographer, allow me this familiarity, you are now with your beloved dog, rest in peace. Admiringly and very respectfully JME photographer from Switzerland📷

Good stuff. I have never been to England or Europe, but somehow imagine that asking strangers in the street to make a photograph is easier than in the U.S.

I'm expecting my first couple of FD lenses for mounting on my M43 cameras, and I'm very relieved to hear you say they're easier to manually focus than digital lenses! Photos look magnificent. I wish the lenses came packaged with that kind of photographic nous.

Really great compositions Craig. Loved the shot of alleyway and lady, and the postbox couple. I did a series of street portraits in 2020-21. Not too many knock backs. After a while you get a sense for who might be responsive.

Cracking shot. I've got a penchant for lonesome trees, too. If it had been taking the photo when the midges descended, though, I'd have made like the tree, and leafed. (I'll get my coat.)

Cool camera. Great lens choices. Watched a video recently where they converted this camera to an xpan ratio and shot on 35mm. Got some great photos. Just a piece of plastic really, quite simple to install and remove making this camera quite versatile. Watching the phone booth segment really made me want to take some bolt cutters to that barb wire. Humans can be so strange….

Tip from the Tank manufacturer that says you have to squeeze the tank faces When screwing down the stoppers what creates vacuum in the tank and so secures the tank cover. I was amazed developping the first time Fomapan 100 in D76 1+1 as the developper gets a strong green color ! Never seen this with other films.

Never thought this would make me tearful. Even though I didn’t know you personally Craig, hearing your voice is special. I used to fall asleep to your videos all the time. You’ve gotten me through many trying times during the pandemic. Im tearing up while writing this so I’ll try to make it quick, but I miss you Craig. I’m not sure why I’m even typing this. I guess we as humans can grieve death of individuals not even related to us. Rest in Peace, Craig

This is my first Craig Prentis video. I found this when I was searching for what people think about fomapan. Those last few moments with Barney leading Craig a few steps and then them walking together toward the clouds is so beautiful. Rest in peace Craig and Barney, you've touched so many people with your perspectives and your generosity in sharing them.
